In the early 90's, Conan O'Brien and Robert Smigel made a pilot called "Lookwell". It was on NBC once and never got picked up. The premise... Adam West as an aging actor who used to play a detective on a popular television show from the '70's. Years after the show has been cancelled, he continues to try to solve crimes in the real world. I love the concept. The pilot episode is, of course, on youtube and worth watching....
